Skin Cancer

Skin Cancer is an abnormal growth of skin cells which has the ability to spread to other parts of the body. The three main types of skin cancer are:

  • basal cell carcinoma
  • squamous cell carcinoma
  • melanoma
Exposure to the sun (UV radiation) is one of the most common causes of skin cancer. Other risk factors include HPV infections, non-healing wounds, ionizing radiation, and smoking. Early detection and treatment gives you the greatest chance of success.
